I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia just prior to the pandemic and found that I had many questions with very few answers as treatment is not particularly straightforward and is not a one-size-fits all approach. After several months, I found various therapies which worked well for me but there still seemed to be a piece missing from the jigsaw. As I had worked with Kim in the past she was the first person whose name popped into my head as I knew Kim would either be able to help or she would know somebody who could. After an initial discussion, it transpired that Kim has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of fibromyalgia and CFS which I was so pleased about as she is the most kind, caring and compassionate person I have ever worked with and I knew I could improve further with Kim’s help. From that point on, I worked with Kim virtually on a regular basis to address my unresolved health issues. This included learning how to put myself first and to tackle some issues in my life which I had buried deeply many years ago. Kim made me realise that in order to feel better, I had to address all areas of my life and to find the right coping strategies for me, which I did with Kim right by my side supporting me all the way. I can honestly say with hand on heart that if I hadn’t had Kim to help and guide me, I would still be struggling. I cannot thank Kim enough for all the help and support she has given me.

Covid, lockdown and isolation caused me great anxiety especially when life began to return to some sort of normal. I found it difficult to be amongst people and making decisions about what to do for the best. I started experiencing fibromyalgia symptoms such as muscular pain and fatigue making it difficult for me to move easily and function properly. I was relieved to work with Kim because I knew she had experienced chronic pain herself and I also knew that she understood that stress can cause the body to have all sorts of symptoms. We met via Zoom and this worked well. Kim helped me clarify my thoughts. She particularly helped me be confident when making decisions which were right for me. She challenged me, in a supportive way, when I started catastrophizing. She helped me feel more relaxed and calmer. She also provided supportive resources. Gradually the pain began to subside and I am now pain free. I am now able to recognise when I am getting anxious and take steps to calm myself. I am grateful to Kim for her help and support at a difficult time.

"Kim completely opened my mind to the possibility that my chronic pain was the result of stress and psychological thoughts and fears that had stemmed from worries and events from my past. Kim's approach to this was gentle, informative, and reassuring along the way. Kim taught me so much about the mind and body connection and simplified how physical pain can stem from emotional pain, I really did learn a lot throughout my journey. Kim was very compassionate and empathetic throughout my therapy journey. Kim guided me on my journey of self-healing and understanding myself and my pain better. Kim allowed me to unlock tools that are available to me within my mind and body such as self-soothing exercises, mediation, reframing, and journaling. Kim also undertook hypnotherapy sessions with me to assist with my fear of flying and it really did help me, and I was able to enjoy my holiday.
